Adoption Policies and Fees
Policies
Talbot Humane does our best to find the ideal home for all pets awaiting adoption. Some of these pets have special needs and may not be the best fit for everyone. Because of this, applications are considered on a “best fit” not “first come” basis. Upon approval, applications will be kept on file for 6 months while together we search for the right pet for you and your family.

Chastidy’s Lonely Heart’s Club
If an animal resides at Talbot Humane for more than 120 days, it becomes a member of Chastidy’s Lonely Heart’s Club. This means their adoption fee is waived in an effort to bring attention to these wonderful but often overlooked pets. The only fee for adoption of these pets is the rabies vaccination fee and a Talbot County Animal license when applicable. Visit our pets for adoption pages and see all of the wonderful club members looking for their new furrever families.
